How Does Air Conditioning Work?

It is essential to get around the ‘vapour-compression refrigeration cycle.’ The process works through a chemical refrigerant that carries heat from one part of the system to another and then releases it.

The initial stage is the chemical’s compression into a high pressure, intensely hot gas pumped into a long tube called a coil. The heat is extracted through a fan as the refrigerant flows through the coil – the gas changes to a liquid state after it has cooled down. Then passes into an expansion valve. With that, it lowers the pressure of the chemical before pumping it into the evaporator. It tends to be a complicated but efficient way of transferring heat from the inside to the outside.
